Got a postcard from the lovely esteven. It appears she enjoyed Scotland. Jack!Bear and Stephen!Bear were not quite behaving (in her words) and she has photographic evidence. *g* I assume she has moved on to England by now.
Otherwise a very dull week only enlivened by some nice Maximus/Commodus fic and some yummy stuff on Est! by rahalia_cat and ashinae and an interesting combo of Maximus/Maturin time-warped by rahalia_cat.
The news from Louisiana and Mississippi was depressing, not only for the lost lives and tragedies but also now for news relating to appalling behaviour of looters. Our own State was in a bit of a kerfuffle, (merely a political storm in a teacup in comparison) when the Opposition Leader resigned after making racist and sexist comments while under the influence of a beer or six. Today when there were further revelations of sexist and offensive behaviour to women (his staffers, journalists, etc)he attempted to commit suicide after guzzling a bottle of gin. Sorry can’t feel too sympathetic for him. He would have been the first in line to criticise if someone from the government had behaved in the same manner.
