Which Goddess lurks in your soul?

Hera

It is obvious that leadership is your strong suit! Hera was Queen of all the Greek Gods and the daughter of a Titan. This is no small boast! Hera is selective on who she inhabits and rightfully so. Only those of majestic grace and keen intellects are considered and she will leave in a heartbeat if her host is ungracious or in anyway corrupted by a powerful position. Like Hera, you are a true born leader of the people. Many have come to you over the years seeking guidance and patient understanding to their plights and pains. Your advice is usually rooted in the experiences of your own life and given with great care and caution. Continue on this path and Hera will make you a Queen worthy of remembrance!

Went to the fracture clinic to have the final check-up for my leg and to leave the crutches and splint thingey for recycling. The usual wait ensued. Was surprised that I had to have more x-rays but had some more done on my knee and then they asked me to have a bone density test as I was in the female age danger zone and it was a relatively quick and painless process. Much better than a bone scan. No nasty needles full of radioactive dye. Looking at the results for my spine, I don’t have osteoporosis yet, but it seems I no longer have healthy strong bones either . The lady who did the scan said I’m osteopenic and has sent the report to my oncologist. I don’t know whether this means I’ll have to go off my current cancer medication or not and go on to chemotherapy, but shall wait to find out when I see my oncologist next month.

I am now off to visit my father in Newcastle for the weekend. Have a good weekend everyone on my f-list.

For those hanging out to know if I have a brain, no can do. I turned up bright and early in the afternoon at the hospital to be told the MRI scanner was broke! So no proof of any brain just yet. Was somewhat annoyed. I’m sure they must have known earlier in the day there was a problem but no one bothered to ring me to tell me not to come in. I’d taken the afternoon off and we are short staffed at the moment (though rather quiet) and I wasted some of my flex-hours on a pointless journey.  Grrrr! Told them I would be busy till the end of July, so not to schedule anything before then and then she brings out another questionnaire, saying they’ve added this to the project and would I complete it, in addition to the other tests I did for them last year. At least she gave me a cup of tea and was suitably apologetic. I admit she’s a nice person and being the obedient sort, I completed the questionnaire for her.

I listened to an interview with Peter Goss, a Cornish man who is re-enacting the voyage of the Spirit of Mystery, a very small fishing boat that was sailed from Cornwall to Melbourne in 1854 by some poor Cornish men who wanted to get to the Australian gold fields to make their fortunes. I had never heard of this story before and it is surprising that such a small boat could be sailed that far and at that time.

If you’re interested in some of the historical details, go to Peter Goss’s page on the –

Speaking of things nautical, a big thank you for the postcard from Portsmouth sent by the UNOPOBLERs and thank you Em for all your other postcards from England and the Herschel pen.

I’m going to get my brain scanned tomorrow, so I will have proof that I have one. Actually it is the follow up to the interview I had for a research project into schizophrenia. They needed people who don’t suffer schizophrenia to volunteer to do tests and interviews and undergo an MRI to compare their brains with those of people who suffer from schizophrenia.
