Filched from lady_luthienne

you are forestgreen
#228B22

Your dominant hue is green. You’re logical and steadfast, focused on figuring life out and doing what makes sense. You value being trusted because you know you’re taking the time to figure things out and everyone should just follow you.

Your saturation level is higher than average – You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don’t be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. You are flexible and see things objectively.

Heard about this quizzie thing from saffronlie. Tried it and was somewhat surprised as I’ve never had formal training or done any Art history courses. Must have acquired some of the knowledge by osmosis or rather the last few pages of the quiz were mainly guesses –

Your result for The Famous (and Not So Famous) Art Quiz…

Art Lover

82% Artiste!

Art Lover: You scored 82% Artiste. You may not have any formal training, but you are a big fan of art, at least what you’ve been able to see in your local museum. Try broadening your horizons a little and exploring some lesser known artists.

Not much of a surprise –

Your result for Howard Gardner’s Eight Types of Intelligence Test…

Logical

51% Logical, 22% Spatial, 41% Linguistic, 37% Intrapersonal, 8% Interpersonal, 37% Musical, 4% Bodily-Kinesthetic and 39% Naturalistic!

“This area has to do with logic, abstractions, inductive and deductive reasoning, and numbers. While it is often assumed that those with this intelligence naturally excel in mathematics, chess, computer programming, and other logical or numerical activities, a more accurate definition places emphasis less on traditional mathematical ability and more reasoning capabilities, abstract pattern recognition, scientific thinking and investigation, and the ability to perform complex calculations.

Careers which suit those with this intelligence include scientists, mathematicians, engineers, doctors and economists.” (Wikipedia)

There is an expo next weekend at Darling Harbour for ‘mature’ jobseekers or rather for those who want to change their careers and I thought I’d go there to research a little and contact potential employers for the future. I’m due to retire in 2012 (if I’m still around then) and I realise now that I don’t really want to stop working. I don’t mind leaving the Dept of Education but I noted that there were major travel companies attending and I wouldn’t mind working in the travel industry and if they are attending this expo, they must be interested in older workers. I think I could make a go of it. Better than vegetating once I’m retired and the additional money from working would help funds future travels.

There is also a freebie concert at the Great Hall at Sydney Uni as a part of the Glebe Music Festival on November 9. It is performed by players from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Ensembles Studies Unit and they are playing pieces from Ralph Vaughan Williams and Olivier Messiaen. I must go early as there is a carillon recital before the concert.

Anyone coming to Sydney that weekend might be interested in attending. Click here –

There is also a link to the Glebe music festival site, listing all the events throughout November.
