This cartoon by Tandberg truly reflects the situation with our Teflon PM. John Howard has relied on his ministers or rather his minions to take responsibility for his stuff-ups and serial dishonesty over the years.
Peter Reith carried the can of sh*t for the ‘children overboard’ scandal; Ruddock deservedly carried the can for the morally bankrupt ‘Pacific Solution’ and the scandals of the ‘detention centres in the desert’ and Kevin Andrews will certainly be carrying it for the current ‘Dr Haneef imbroglio’ but perhaps some of the contents of the can may end up on the PM this time round. Perhaps the teflon coating is wearing thin –
